Ayca Simsek

Hayal Ayca Simsek was born in Izmir Turkey in 13 January 1973. She completed her primary education in Karsiyaka Cumhuriyet Primary School and her secondary and higher educations in Izmir Turkish College. She graduated from Public Finance Department of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in Dokuz Eylul University in 1995 and she started working as a research assistant in Public Finance Department in 1996. Starting her master education in 1995, she completed this process in 1997 by presenting her master thesis namely ‘Alternative Fiscal Policies in Determining the Limits of Government’. Hayal Ayca Simsek started doctorate process in 1998 and completed this process in 2003 by presenting her doctoral thesis namely ‘Constitutional Economics As An Alternative for Achieving Economic Stability: The Case of Turkey’. She became an assistant professor in 2005 and associate professor in 2011. She has still been working in Public Finance Department of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in Dokuz Eylul University.

Hayal Ayca Simsek studied on her post-doctoral thesis namely ‘Financial Liberalisation and Public Regulatory Policies in Developing Countries’ in Buckingham University and London School of Economics in the UK between 2010-2012.  She has been giving lectures on public economics, public finance, fiscal policy and public debt. She studies especially on macroeconomics, financial economy, public economics and fiscal policies. Hayal Ayca Simsek has been researching on issues especially on economic policies in Central Asian countries, energy policies of Central Asian countries and possibilities for achievement of macroeconomic stability in this region in Eurasian Research Institute in Almaty in Kazakhstan as visiting researcher since September 2014.
