The Eurasian Research Institute invites you to participate Politics, International Relations and Security Studies Seminar titled “Some Trends in the Development of Political Islam on American Analytical Sources” which will be held on 14 December 2017 by Dr. Gulnar Nadirova, Senior Research Fellow

The concern of American political scientists with the phenomenon of political Islam is connected primarily with the events of the last decades in the Middle East - in Iran, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt and a number of other countries in the region. Many of the roles and functions of political Islam, they believe, testify to the desire of Islamist movements to promote positive social change. However, political Islam (of a fundamentalist nature) is also used in the interests of the most reactionary elements of society, which oppose progress and education. American analysts admit that political Islam is a potent social force for regional politics and will remain a significant factor in the development of events in the Arab world in the future.
