“Middle-Income Trap” refers to developing countries with middle income per capita and have difficulties with developing further into high income group. Almost all middle income countries as well as Asian and Latin American countries followed this trajectory of economic growth and got into this trap as soon as they reached the middle income or higher middle income level. Kazakhstan and other CIS countries are classical examples of countries that have gotten into the middle income trap. To explain this phenomenon the seminar will explore the economic development and reasons of this.
