In October 2019, the first Russia-Africa summit was held in the Russian resort city of Sochi, chaired by the presidents of Russia and Egypt, Vladimir Putin and Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the latter in his capacity of the current chair of the African Union. In total, 43 heads of state and government arrived in Sochi, and another 11 countries were represented at different levels.
Asset Ordabayev is a junior research fellow at the Eurasian Institute of the International H.A Yassawi Kazakh-Turkish University. He holds a BA in International Relations from the KarSU (Karahanda) from 2012. In 2014, he earned his Masters degree in International Relations the Kazak National University (Almaty).
