The culture and lifestyle of the residents are closely related to the location and architectural features of the city. Especially the formation and development of medieval cities in Central Asia and Kazakhstan are adapted to the social structure of the population and human life. Turkistan is one of the rare cities in Kazakhstan with such a characteristic. The architecture of the ancient city of Turkistan, one of the distinguished examples of the Eastern style, reflects the traces of the social structure of the Middle Ages.

Daulet Zhailybayev is a research fellow at the Eurasian Research Institute of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University. In 2009, he received a bachelor’s degree from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, faculty of history. In 2013, he graduated from the faculty of ethnology of KazNU with a master’s degree. The thesis topic is “The Azerbaijanis in Kazakhstan: Ethno-Cultural Processes”.
