Azamat Nurshanov

Azamat Nurshanov is a scholar specializing in religious studies, history, and contemporary social and political processes in Central Asia. He holds a PhD in Religious Studies. From 2022 to 2024, A. Nurshanov was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie postdoctoral Researcher at Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech, Estonia) within the European Union-funded Horizon project “CARSI: Caucasus and Central Asia Research Social Innovation: Development Assistance, Innovation and Societal Transformation”. Since 2025, Dr. Nurshanov has served as the Deputy General Director for Research and International Affairs at the RSE “Gylym Ordasy” in Almaty, Kazakhstan. In this position, he is responsible for advancing research initiatives, strengthening international academic cooperation, and actively supporting strategically significant scientific projects.
