Objectives and Duties
With a primary focus on the Turkic world, the Eurasian Research Institute aims to examine, through an interdisciplinary approach, the political, economic, social, and cultural structures of states and societies across Eurasia, as well as regional and global developments; to conduct scientific research, develop, implement, and support projects in these fields; and to carry out studies that contribute to the promotion of regional peace, stability, and cooperation. To this end, the Institute shall:
a)
Conduct interdisciplinary scientific research in the fields of foreign policy and international relations, politics, economics, sociology, energy, transportation, technology, history, and culture, with particular emphasis on the Turkic world and the broader Eurasian region, and plan and support projects in these fields;
b)
Develop strategies aimed at strengthening cooperation among Turkic states and communities and preserving regional peace and stability, and produce scientific knowledge and data for this purpose;
c)
Undertake joint projects and activities with research institutions operating in similar fields both domestically and internationally;
d)
Develop projects in cooperation with regional and international organizations of which Turkic states and communities are members;
e)
Provide scholarship support to successful master’s and doctoral students, as well as researchers, working on subjects that fall within the Institute’s areas of research;
f)
Organize courses consistent with the Institute’s objectives and duties;
g)
Publish journals, reports, bulletins, books, and other publications;
h)
Promote to the public the research and other activities conducted by the Institute or carried out with its support;
i)
Organize national and international academic conferences, events, and educational programs; and
j)
Grant awards in fields and subjects that fall within the Institute’s areas of research.
