June 3-4, 2024, Almaty
Eurasian Research Institute of the Akhmet Yassawi University
The International Conference on Historical Geography of Central Asia aims to delve into the multifaceted layers of historical geography in the region and stimulate discussions on how the intersection of historical landscapes and knowledge formed the lens of historical geographical traditions in Central Asia. By examining various approaches and traditions in historical geography, including the evolution of mapping and cartography, the conference attempts to shed light on how Central Asia was illustrated, recorded, and interpreted over time.
